Help celebrate “another year of victories on behalf of working people in the DC Metro area” at the DC Employment Justice Center’s Labor Day Breakfast, scheduled for September 15 at the Renaissance Mayflower Hotel. “On Labor Day 2011, the EJC will celebrate 11 years of successful advocacy and legal victories for low-wage workers,” says the EJC. “We hope you will join us for a breakfast to celebrate and honor our 2011 Workplace Justice Award recipients.” This year’s awardees include AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka (left) – who will also be the keynote speaker – and Melvina Ford, former Executive Director of the EJC, in addition to the “law firms, organizations, individuals, and volunteers who help the EJC to secure, protect and promote workplace justice in the DC metro area.” Tickets cost $150 per person; call 202-828-9675 for sponsorship opportunities and for more information.
