(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

This year, Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams (right) is among those being honored by the Peggy Browning Fund, an organization that “educates and inspires the next generation of advocates for workplace justice through fellowships, workers’ rights conferences, networking and other programs.” Also being honored at the awards presentation – scheduled for Thursday, June 2 at the AFL-CIO – are Michael Bearse, Esq., General Counsel, Laborers’ International Union of North America, and Richard Bloch, Esq., Arbitrator, Mediator and Attorney. The Fund was established in memory of Margaret A. Browning, a prominent labor attorney and the first union lawyer appointed as a member of the National Labor Relations Board.
