Trades Confront Wolf On Jobs

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

More than 100 building trades workers turned out to boo Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA-10) at his press conference Monday afternoon opposing a Project Labor Agreement on Phase 2 of Metrorail construction to Dulles Airport. Chanting “Frank’s got to go” and “Cut Wolf’s pay,” the union protestors – including a large contingent of Laborers -- drowned out Wolf’s anti-PLA remarks.  The PLA – approved by the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority 11-2 -- ensures fair wages and health care for workers, requires workers to be skilled and trained and is strenuously opposed by the anti-union Associated Builders & Contractors.  - photo courtesy the Herndon Patch
