(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Working America’s Robert Fox (right) is the new Chief Operating Officer at Greenpeace USA. “I am very proud of what Working America has accomplished,” said Fox, who served as Deputy Director of the AFL-CIO’s community affiliate from its founding in 2003 until this month. “I feel honored to have had the opportunity to contribute. It was a privilege to work at the AFL-CIO and I will always be a part of the union movement.” Fox has spent most of his career working for social justice through the labor movement, including stints at the AFL-CIO’s Working Families Network online organizing program and UNITE! where he was the Assistant Organizing Director for the national union, after serving as a Lead Organizer on dozens of campaigns around the country. He’s also worked in visual media as Development Director at Downtown Community Television Center in New York City, the largest community television program in the nation, and as Executive Director of Impact Visuals, a cooperative of progressive photojournalists. In 2004 he founded Chopteeth, a popular Washington, D.C.- based afrofunk big-band. Fox can be reached at robertmfox@gmail.com
