NABET-CWA 213 Merges With DC Local 31

NABET-CWA Harrisburg, PA Local 213 merged with Washington, DC Local 31 last week. NABET-CWA Local 31 President Carl Mayers (at right) called the merger "a great opportunity to better serve our members in Harrisburg. We look forward to actively working with these new Local 31 members, to continue our union’s efforts to have dignity in the workplace, maintain quality work conditions and fair wages." Local 213 primarily represents NABET-CWA members at PBS station WITF-TV and radio, as well as a number of freelance members in the Central Pennsylvania area, while Local 31 members are employed by broadcast outlets and networks in the metro Washington area, as well as production and crewing companies throughout the Southeast United States and employees of WSVN-TV in Miami, Florida. - photo courtesy NABET-CWA 31
