Labor Seder Focuses On Joblessness

Friday, April 8, 2011

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Each year, the Labor Seder – set for this Sunday, 5:30P at Adas Israel Congregation - highlights a current workers' rights struggle and brings together the Jewish, progressive, and labor communities in shared commitment to social and economic justice. “This year's seder will focus on widespread unemployment in our region and on the struggles of working families and low-income residents to find and keep good jobs,” says Jews United For Justice. “We'll hear the voices of local workers, activists, and rabbis, and read from an original haggadah combining citizens' testimony, statistics and facts, and Jewish reflections on employment and jobs.” Tickets cost $18 (individual), $36 (family) and $10 (student/low income); click here for more information.
