STITCH, a DC-based feminist labor rights organization that supports women workers fighting to organize unions in Central America, has two events coming up. Tonight there’s a fundraiser starting at 7P featuring live mariachi bands and a silent auction at Haydees Restaurant in Northwest DC. “Break a sweat dancing, sip on a cocktail, bid on cool items from local businesses, and support women worker rights all in one place!” say organizers. And next week – in honor of Women’s History month – STITCH is teaming up with the Coalition of Labor Union Women’s DC Chapter to host a lunch discussion on current labor campaigns and organizing struggles led by women in the US and abroad. The discussion is at the AFT on Tuesday, March 29 and features Lupita Aguila Arteaga of STITCH, Blanca Estela Dole Duran of the Honduran Feminist Collective of University Women and sandwiches and snacks.
