2011 Labor Seder Focuses On Unemployment

Monday, March 21, 2011

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Each year, the Labor Seder highlights a current workers' rights struggle and brings together the Jewish, progressive, and labor communities in shared commitment to social and economic justice. This year’s seder – scheduled for Sunday, April 10 – will focus on “widespread unemployment in our region and on the struggles of working families and low-income residents to find and keep good jobs,” reports seder organizer Jews United For Justice. “The seder will feature singing, storytelling, discussion, reflection, and action. We'll hear the voices of local workers, activists, and rabbis, and read from an original haggadah combining citizens' testimony, statistics and facts, and Jewish reflections on employment and jobs.” Space is limited; click here now to register and for sponsorship opportunities.
