“I’m a single mother, and if they take this job, and the benefits, and the pension away from me, I will be devastated,” says Giant worker Tanya Daley on the new Justice at Giant campaign’s just-launched website. The site features the latest updates on the “labor/community campaign to save good jobs,” as hundreds of Giant employees, many of whom are members of the Teamsters who have worked in its Jessup, Maryland warehouse for decades, poised to lose their jobs after last week’s notice that the facility will likely close. The site explains “What’s Gone Wrong at Giant” with the Netherlands-based Royal Ahold planning to outsource its dry goods grocery distribution operations to C&S Wholesale Grocers, a multi-billion dollar grocery wholesale company headquartered in Keene, New Hampshire.
