Maryland Public Workers To Stage Massive Rally Monday

Thousands of Maryland’s public workers are planning to descend on Annapolis Monday for a massive 6p “Rally to Keep the Promise” against attacks by Maryland's elected officials on pensions and retiree health benefits and the proposed $100 million in education funding cuts. Organizers say the rally has become even more urgent in the wake of actions taken against public workers this week in both Wisconsin and Ohio, as well as ongoing efforts across the country to strip away collective bargaining rights and cost-shift onto public workers.
