Giant Protest Rally Set For Sunday

Now you can rally and do your grocery shopping at the same time. The Beltway Plaza Giant in Greenbelt is the site of a rally Sunday from 9a to 12 noon (clocks spring ahead Sunday for Daylight Savings; be sure to adjust your clocks!) to protest Giant’s plans to outsource its dry goods grocery distribution out of state. Over 600 local jobs would be affected by the move. The rally – sponsored by Teamster Locals 639, 730, 863, 922 and 264, United Food & Commercial Workers Local 400, D.C.
