Trumka To Head Up Nurse Strike Rally At Noon Today

AFL-CIO President Richard Trumka will head up today’s noontime rally (First & Irving streets) at the Washington Hospital Center nurses’ strike. Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams will MC and the rally will also feature Plymouth Congregational Church Pastor Graylan Hagler, former Washington Redskins defensive lineman Nolan Harrison III, National Nurses United President Karen Higgins, RN, Laborers President Terry O’Sullivan, DC Nurses Association President Margaret Shanks, RN, DC City Councilman Harry “Tommy” Thomas, Jr. Washington Hospital Center ER nurse Jessie Ruehl, RN and former WHC patient Dr. Hank Cole, with music by Kathy McGregor.
