Thursday, March 3, 2011

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

“Join me Friday at Noon in DC as I, along with Laborer’s president Terrence O’Sullivan, walk the picket line with nurses as they strike for working conditions that put patients first,” urges AFL-CIO President Rich Trumka. 1,650 registered nurses at Washington Hospital Center - members of National Nurses United - are going on a one-day strike tomorrow to take a stand to improve patient care and maintain nursing standards. Busses will leave from the AFL-CIO (815 16th Street, NW) at 11:30A; call Scott Reynolds at 202-637-5226 to reserve a seat and for more information. - photo: dozens of nurses made signs on Wednesday, February 23 in preparation for Friday's 1-day strike at Washington Hospital Center; photo by Chris Garlock
