Members of the Ironworkers Local 5’s “Strikers” bowling team won the prize for most pledges collected for January’s annual Bowling For Gold tournament, which benefits the Community Services Agency’s Emergency Assistance Fund. The Strikers raised $1,526 for the fund, which provides assistance to area workers in financial crisis. Each team member wins $75 and Bricklayers "Minds in the Gutter" team member Bobbie Haut – who raised $475 – won the prize for the individual with the highest turned-in pledges, also taking home $75. “Thanks to everyone who helped make this event a big success,” said CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy, who told Union City that so far, the tournament has raised a total of $10,000. “If you still have pledges to turn in, please do so immediately,” added McKirchy. - photo by Chris Garlock
