Workers To Tell GOP Governors "Hands Off Our Rights" Tomorrow

State governors will be picketed tomorrow in DC at the annual meeting of the National Governor's Association. The 11a demo Sunday at the JW Marriott -- 1331 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW, corner of 14th & Pennsylvania -- follows hard on the heels of demonstrations at state capitals across the country (see stories on DC and Annapolis below) today as tens of thousands on angry citizens mobilized to protect basic workers rights building off the spontaneous momentum created in Wisconsin. “The high-profile battle over collective bargaining rights in Wisconsin is just the tip of a broader attempt by GOP governors across the country to attack workers and their unions under the guise of budget-cutting,” said Metro Council President Jos Williams. - photo by Chris Garlock
