ATU 689's Jackie Jeter Trade Unionist Of The Year

This year’s Evening with Labor (EWL) -- set for March 12 -- award-winners have been announced and include ATU 689’s Jackie Jeter (at right) as the 2010 JC Turner Outstanding Trade Unionist of the Year. “In addition to visibly and vocally leading her own local union during very tough times,” says Metro Council President Jos Williams, “Jackie’s been a strong supporter of the political, legislative and community services activities of the Metro Washington Council and Community Services Agency, supporting all of the CSA fundraisers as well as the Emergency Assistance Fund.” Other award winners include Carl Carson, Cement Masons 891 (DC COPE Award), AFSCME Council 26 (Organizing Award), Teamsters 639 and National Nurses United, WHC Local (Golden Picket Award) and Stan Gordon, AFGE 65 (Thomas M. Bradley Community Services Award).
