Labor On The Move: Tim Ryan's Novel Approach to Globalization

“The Sisters: A Fable of Globalization,” is a new novel just out – and available on Amazon -- by Tim Ryan, Regional Program Director-Asia/Europe at the Solidarity Center. A “chronicle of culture clash and revolution,” “Sisters” is the story of twin sisters “and their journey from hard-scrabble adolescence to tumultuous adulthood in the chaotic and turbulent times of 1990s Indonesia,” says Ryan. In the novel, Indonesian garment workers at a quality control/buyer for an American sportswear company and American labor organizers “all intersect in critical and surprising ways that shape each of their destinies.”
