Union Women Unite Against Cervical Cancer

Tuesday, January 25, 2011

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

The Coalition of Labor Union Women (CLUW) DC Chapter and Tamika & Friends are hosting a party at tonight’s monthly CLUW meeting to teach people how to prevent cervical cancer, as cervical cancer awareness month draws to a close. “Cervical Cancer is nearly 100% preventable,” report event organizers, “yet 12,000 women in the U.S. will be diagnosed with cervical cancer this year and 4,210 will die from the disease.” Refreshments will be served and the program will be in English and Spanish. "You don't have to be a CLUW member to come... nor a union member. All are welcome!" Click here for details.
