Labor On The Move: Marta David

Marta David, a senior Congressional leadership staffer and political strategist, is joining the AFSCME legislative team. “Marta David’s legislative, outreach and political skills will add to AFSCME’s vigorous campaign to defend public service workers under attack from right-wing politicians,” said AFSCME President Gerald W. McEntee. David was Rep. Steny Hoyer’s director of outreach in both the offices of the House Majority Leader and the House Democratic Whip from 2003-2011.  As a senior advisor from 1997-2002, she also led outreach efforts for House Minority Leader Richard Gephardt. David was a senior political strategist for more than two decades at the AFL-CIO, the DCCC, and the DNC, and served on the boards of the Women’s Campaign Fund and EMILY’s List.
