Supporting DC's Strike Fund

“We are considering donating some money to an area strike fund,” wrote a local union recently, “If there is one run by the metro AFL-CIO that would be ideal. Does the metro AFL-CIO have such a program?” Yes! The Metro Council's Community Services Agency has an Emergency Assistance Fund which helps striking workers. “Because we have had several strikes going on since last spring, the fund has at times been depleted so any contributions are most definitely welcome and will be well-used,” reports CSA Executive Director Kathleen McKirchy.
