CBTU Shoebox Gift Wrapping & Reception Tomorrow

The DC chapter of the Coalition of Black Trade Unionists (CBTU) is hosting its annual shoebox gift wrapping and reception event tomorrow from 11a to 4p at CWA headquarters. Bring gift cards of $10 or more from area unionized grocery stores (Safeway, Giant, Shoppers, etc); cash contributions will also be accepted and pooled and the chapter will purchase the gift cards. “The shoebox donations will be distributed to area homeless shelters and nursing homes,” says DC CBTU President Gwend Johnson, noting that canned goods will go to the Community Services Agency’s Holiday Basket program.
