Author – and National Writers Union member -- Brigid O’Farrell discusses her new book, “She Was One Of Us: Eleanor Roosevelt And The American Worker” at a 1p talk today hosted by the AFL-CIO. “Eleanor Roosevelt was a committed, lifelong advocate for workers and a proud union member for more than 25 years,” say organizers, noting that “She Was One of Us” reveals - for the first time - the story of Eleanor Roosevelt’s deep ties to the American labor movement. Speakers also include AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler and Julie Kushner, director, Region 9A UAW, who will comment on workers’ rights and organizing today.
