Building Futures Honors 7th Graduating Class
Wednesday, November 10, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Shaun Reese (r), chosen by his fellow graduates to deliver
remarks at the Building Futures Project seventh graduation ceremony on Monday,
praised building trades workers for their hard work and devotion to the trades.
Reese singled out Rosella Scott of Cement Masons Local 891, who supervises the
training site and helps graduates stay focused on their training tasks. Also
applauded by Reese and his fourteen fellow graduates were the Building Futures
staff for their efforts. Reese hopes to join the Steamfitters Local 602
apprenticeship program, and is now working hard on his apprenticeship and job
application activities. Many of the students from the graduating class have
already interviewed for various building trades positions, and all are hopeful
that they will secure employment in the near future. -
