Job Tracker A Huge Hit

Working America’s astonishing – and sobering
– Job
Tracker launched so successfully last week that the site was
temporarily overwhelmed with traffic. The brand-new website exposes which
companies are guilty of outsourcing jobs, as well as which have safety and
health violations. “Just enter your ZIP code, and Job Tracker will find
corporate traitors near you,” Online Mobilization Coordinator Manny Herrmann
promises. A quick check of metro DC reveals a whopping 6,144 companies with OSHA
violations, 351 companies that filed a notice under Worker Adjustment and
Retraining Notification Act (WARN Act), which indicates an anticipated plant
closing or mass layoff of workers, 9 companies exporting jobs and 6 companies
laying off workers due to trade. The Job Tracker also
tracks companies with NLRA violations and employment discrimination citations.
“For the first time, working people have one place to see the real impact of
outsourcing, bad trade deals and currency manipulation,” adds Herrmann.
“Every corporate traitor Working America exposes—and every company you and
your friends, co-workers and family add—makes a stronger case for holding
corporations accountable.”
