Walking Tour Explores DC Labor History
Thursday, October 14, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
From the Labor Hall of Fame to Joe Hill’s ashes, worker’s
history is around just about every corner in our nation’s capitol, if you know
where to look. Metro Washington Council Union Cities Coordinator Chris Garlock
(right) - who usually helps local and national activists make history on DC’s
streets – is leading a DC
Labor History Walking Tour on Saturday, October 23. The 2-hour walking
tour of downtown DC reveals labor’s often-untold story of protest and
resistance and all tour fees go to DC Jobs with Justice, a coalition of labor,
faith, community and student organizations that has played a leading role in the
fight for workers' rights in the nation's capital. Space is limited and tickets
are going fast, so CLICK
HERE to reserve your place now! Tickets are $20 each, $30 for couples
