AFL-CIO Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler kicks off the 2010 DC Labor FilmFest today at a free noontime screening of the FilmFest’s 30-minute “Working Lunch” compilation of short films about labor. From the 1-minute Photo Booth (“It's a lonely job, but someone's got to do it”) to the IBEW’s 3-minute Workplace Democracy Corporate Style (“What really happens when workers try to exercise their rights”), “There’s something for everyone,” promises FilmFest Director Chris Garlock. Attendees at today’s lunchtime screening will also get chances to win free passes to the FilmFest and FilmFest t-shirts. The complete 2010 DC Labor FilmFest schedule can be easily accessed online on the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO’s website; simply scroll over the “Calendar” button and click “DC Labor FilmFest” to view the full lineup of activities. - photo by Chris Garlock
