(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Join area union members for a special preview screening - sponsored by the AFL-CIO, the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance and the Solidarity Center – of Who Killed Chea Vichea? at 5:30P today at the AFL-CIO, featuring a discussion with Producer Rich Garella. Chea Vichea, President of the Free Trade Union of Workers of the Kingdom of Cambodia, represented tens of thousands of garment workers in a booming garment export industry in Cambodia. Under his leadership the union won victory after victory against enormous odds. Who Killed Chea Vichea? is a new film about his assassination and its shocking aftermath: the conviction of two men who seem to have no connection to the crime. Suggested donations are $50 per person – proceeds will go to support labor rights issues in Cambodia (please make checks payable to Asia Catalyst with “Chea Vichea” in the memo line). Email eventsinternational@aflcio.org to RSVP or click here for more information.
