Maryland Attorney General Doug Gansler yesterday asked Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson to help resolve the Teamsters strike against Veolia Transportation. Noting that the Teamsters had offered last Friday to return to work while bargaining for a new contract continued, Gansler said that “a return to work certainly will temporarily ease the adverse effects of this situation on the Prince George’s County citizens who utilize this bus service.”  Gansler added that Governor O’Malley was also hopeful that Johnson could help “reconcile the parties.” - photo: Teamsters Local 639 members are seen walking the picket line in September, 2010; photo courtesy NBC Washington
