People march on Washington all the time. Today, ATU, TWU and Operation PUSH are sponsoring a "Text on Washington" in support of mass transit. You can join in right now by texting to 69-866 or emailing text@ourride.org The Save Our Ride messages will be displayed on a giant JumboTron in front of Union Station today. The transit unions, working with community and environmental groups, are lobbying to pass HR 2746, which will provide for more secure and consistent operating funds to keep America's trains and busses rolling. "Affordable, accessible mass transit is good for the environment and essential for working families in these tough times," say the transit unions. Save our ride, Save our jobs!" and "Earth to Congress: Mass transit = green jobs and clean air!" but feel free to make up your own!
