(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

"From the coal mine to the steel mill, from the foundry to the fast food line (these are) songs that challenge the status quo and uplift the spirit." Acclaimed performer and award winning songwriter Joe Jencks will present songs from the 1860's to the modern day in a concert this Saturday (see On The Line), written by, for, and about the working class. Appearing with Jencks is DC's own Joe Glazer, well-known as "Labor's Troubadour," performing music of and for the working class for more than 60 years. Glazer has his own show tonight at the St Mark Presbyterian Church (see On The Line).
