Labor For Gray Today: Rally & Lit-Drop

Monday, September 13, 2010

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

With the DC mayoral campaign in its final hours, today’s main labor action is the Get-Out-The-Vote rally for Vince Gray today at 4P. Hosted by the American Federation of Teachers (555 New Jersey Ave., N.W.), next-door neighbors AFGE will also be turning out, and “All unions are invited; it’s going to be high-energy and a lot of fun!” says Metro Council Assistant Political Coordinator Alya Solomon. A lit-drop in nearby Ward 6 will immediately follow the rally. Labor’s Election Day activities were being finalized at press-time Friday: check the website and look for details in tomorrow’s Union City. Check our Political Action page now for full details on polling places (with maps) and the list of labor-endorsed candidates in the Maryland and the District of Columbia primaries. - photo: ATU Local 689's Political & Legislative Director Lateefah Williams is seen distributing literature for labor-endorsed candidates in Ward 7 on Saturday; photo by Adam Wright
