Lowthers Tops 2004 EWL Awards

UFCW Local 400 President Jimmy Lowthers is the winner of the 2004 JC Turner Award for Outstanding Trade Unionist of the Year, heading up a full slate of award winners that includes SEIU Local 500, MCCSSE (Organizing), UNITE HERE Local 25 (Golden Picket), TBA (COPE) and Marilyn Wiley & Yvette Martin-Gross, on behalf of AFGE District 14 volunteers (Community Services Thomas M. Bradley Award). The exemplary efforts of the award-winners will be recognized and honored at the upcoming Evening With Labor dinner/dance on March 19 at the Washington Hilton.
