Labor Enters Home Stretch For Gray
Wednesday, September 8, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
As area residents fired up grills and relaxed over the long
Labor Day weekend, union activists knocked on more than 1,000 doors to get out
the union vote in next Tuesday’s primaries. “The key to victory for
labor-endorsed mayoral candidate Vince Gray is to identify our voters and bring
them out to the polls to vote,” said Metro Washington Council Assistant
Political Coordinator Alya Solomon. “Mayor Fenty -- who’s been such a
disappointment to working people in the District -- is expected to turn out
20,000 votes prior to Election Day and we have to do everything in our power to
counter that!” Labor-to-labor get-out-the-vote walks continue through this
week and up to election day -- Tuesday, September 14 -- to help elect
labor-endorsed candidates in the District. Click

website, where you can easily find information on early voting, polling places,
and a full list of labor-endorsed candidates. Email asolomon@dclaborarchives.org to
