(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

“Editor: a person employed on a newspaper, whose business it is to separate the wheat from the chaff, and to see to it that the chaff is printed.” This jaundiced view of their bosses heads up the website of local freelance writers represented by the DC chapter of the National Writers Union (NWU/UAW Local 1981), an affiliate of the Metro Council. The website tracks upcoming events organized by the local, as well as news of interest to writers, such as their demand for a cut of the sales of used books. Now you can find 36 Metro Council affiliates online with just one click! Go to the Council’s website and click on “Links” and choose “Affiliates.”  Not listed but should be?
