Solidarity DC Raises $2K+ For DC JwJ

Grooving to the live music of the U-liners and Sugoi, more than 175 area activists spent Thursday night at VIDA for the "Give Your Heart to Justice" Valentine's happy hour. With the bar donating a percent of the entire bar tab, more than $2,000 will go directly to help DC Jobs With Justice continue their work protecting the rights of working people and supporting community struggles. Several community leaders, allies, and workers spoke about the importance of the work DC Jobs with Justice offers, including a parking lot worker with UNITE HERE Local 27. The event was sponsored by Solidarity DC, a new group committed to bringing the DC metropolitan area's progressive community together to have fun and achieve justice, one happy hour at a time. - Bernard Pollack
