(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

"Our practices should live up to our Jesuit ideals," declared a Georgetown University student at a rally last Wednesday for a living wage for campus workers, adding "Georgetown students must stand up for worker's rights!" After the spirited noon-time rally, several dozen chanting students marched to the campus administration building and presented a list of ten demands for a living wage for Georgetown workers. Student activists tell UNION CITY the Georgetown Living Wage campaign has entered a new, more militant stage; they’ll be reporting more details at the next Council Delegate’s meeting on February 28.
