Students Demand a Living Wage in Sit-In at Johns-Hopkins!

(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

Four years of struggle at Johns Hopkins reached crisis point yesterday when 35 students at Johns Hopkins occupied the administration building, demanding a living wage for all employees. As the largest private employer in Baltimore, this is a critical struggle for economic justice; the students are also demanding that Hopkins contract with firms that pay living wages. Today, Day 2 of the sit-in, with the Hopkins administration refusing to budge, the students need our support. Phone and fax your support for a living wage at Hopkins to: President William Brody, 410-516-8068 (voice); 410-516-6097 (fax). Messages of solidarity should be directed to slac@listproc.hcf.jhu.edu and you can reach the students at 443-956-4926 (David Snyder, outside occupation) or 443-804-8034 (Meagan Bemer, inside occupation).
