Gray Fundraiser Provides View From The Top
Tuesday, July 27, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
With hundreds planning on attending and thousands of dollars
already raised, excitement is building for tonight's labor
reception and fundraiser for DC Mayoral candidate Vince Gray (at right). The
reception runs from 5P-7P on the IBEW's rooftop deck overlooking downtown
Washington. In addition to Metro Council affiliate leaders, delegates and
supporters, attendees include national leaders such as AFL-CIO
Secretary-Treasurer Liz Shuler, Executive Vice-President Arlene Holt Baker and
IBEW President Ed Hill. "This is local labor's chance to show our grassroots
power and support for the next Mayor of the District of Columbia," says Metro
Council President Jos Williams. "Plus, it's going to be a fun summer evening
atop the new IBEW headquarters!" Unionized Avalon Catering is providing
refreshments. Make checks payable to "Vince Gray for Mayor" and bring them to
the reception; maximum contribution is $2,000 per local, international or
individual. Please RSVP to Alya Solomon: asolomon@dclaborarchives.org. If
you cannot attend, send your checks to the Metro Washington Council, AFL-CIO:
