Schniderman Reelected As LOC Guild Prez: Long-time labor activist Saul Schniderman (r) overwhelmingly won re-election as President of the Library of Congress Professional Guild (AFSCME 2910), taking over 78% of the vote in a two-way race with Sandra Ware. Schniderman's goals for 2010 include "building constructive labor-management relationships," advocating for bargaining unit employees in the Copyright Office, promoting staff access to library buildings on Capitol Hill, and support for the Office of Opportunity, Inclusiveness and Compliance (OIC) "as it goes through a process of reconstruction." Schniderman - who is also the President of AFSCME Council 26 and Secretary of the Labor Heritage Foundation - says, "I love the Guild and I love the Library of Congress." Dobson Named NCRP Field Director: Progressive Maryland Executive Director Sean Dobson has taken a position as Field Director at the National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy after a decade at PM. "Working with all of you to build PM has been a dream job for me," says Dobson. "Ten years ago I helped Tom Hucker and others create PM. Together and through PM we have made our state more progressive and created more opportunity for working families." As NCRP Field Director, Dobson will spearhead work to "engage NCRP's members and allies in campaigns to make grantmakers more responsive to nonprofits and vulnerable communities."  Dobson also served previously in the Clinton Administration as advisor for communications and strategy at the National Economic Council. He holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University and a B.A. from Yale University. - photo (right) by Chris Garlock, (left) courtesy Progressive Maryland
