(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)

The District of Columbia Nurses Association (DCNA) announced late last week that the union – which represents about 2000 metro-area registered nurses and other health care professionals – has endorsed the Mayoral candidacy of DC Council Chairman Vince Gray (r). “Vincent Gray has a track record of fairness and has demonstrated a commitment to listen to all sides in a debate about matters important to our organization,” said the union. “Mr. Gray’s willingness to meet with our organization and his respect of the opinions and experiences of registered nurses on health care issues is vital to the continued operations of health care institutions in DC,” added  DCNA Executive Director Herman R. Brown, Jr., Esq. The District’s Fraternal Order of Police lodge and the Professional Firefighters Association Local 36 have also endorsed Gray, as did the Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO in mid May.
