JUFJ's "Thinking Jewishly": Responding To The BP Oil Spill In The Gulf
Friday, May 7, 2010(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Though our work focuses on the DC area, our thoughts are with
the people of the Gulf Coast, many of whom are still rebuilding from the
Hurricane Katrina disaster. If you're looking for a way to help the communities
where livelihoods are threatened by the BP oil spill, we encourage you to donate
to our partners at Jewish Funds for Justice and their Gulf Recovery Fund. Jewish
Funds for Justice (JFJ) has a long-standing commitment to the Gulf Coast region.
After Hurricane Katrina, JFJ made providing support to the affected low-income
communities a top organizational priority. "We understand plainly the impact
this spill will have on working people along the coast, and we're prepared to
support them in their efforts to rebuild," says Jewish Funds for Justice. Click
here to donate to the Gulf Recovery Fund today. -
