Kucinich & Hunger Strikers to Deliver Letter to Justice Dept Today

Congressmember Dennis Kucinich will rally with Indian guestworkers - some of whom are in their fourth week of a hunger strike - and their supporters outside the Department of Justice (DOJ) today at noon. They will present a letter - signed by Kucinich and 17 other Congressmembers - to US Attorney General Michael Mukasey in support of the workers. The rally - part of a National Day of Action that includes solidarity rallies in a dozen cities across the country - will call on the DOJ to investigate the workers' employer, Signal International, for human trafficking violations and to give workers "continued presence" status to protect them from deportation.
