DC Jobs with Justice Corner: Summer Brings New Interns to DC JwJ

DC Jobs with Justice (JwJ) welcomed their 2008 summer interns –
Tiye Kinlow and Michael Harris III – this week. Kinlow is a graduate of School
Without Walls and a rising junior at Lafayette College, where she studies
Anthropology and Sociology. An alumna of the Mayor's Youth Leadership Institute,
she remains active in community service activities and student organizations,
including the Association of Black Collegians and the Lafayette College
Democrats. This summer Kinlow will be working on a number of DC JwJ campaigns,
including the Justice at Smithfield Campaign, the Peoples Property Campaign,
efforts to bring a Worker Center to DC. Michael Harris II – an apprentice with
Laborer's Local 657 – will be participating in a training program with DC JwJ
where he will develop organizing and leadership skills while assisting with DC
JwJ's campaign for a worker center.
