'Grassroots Rising' Screens Friday

The DC Labor Filmfest will celebrate Asian Pacific American Heritage Month with a special free lunchtime screening of “Grassroots Rising” Friday at the AFL-CIO. The screening will feature an introduction and Q & A with the film’s Director, Robert C. Winn. The one-hour documentary explores the lives of Asian immigrant workers and their fight for justice, liberty and innovative contributions to the current worker-led labor movement in Los Angeles. The screening is sponsored by the DC Labor Filmfest, the Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance, and the National Asian Pacific American Women's Forum.
