(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Proclaiming her "labor's candidate," Metro Washington Council President Jos Williams presented Prince George's County Council candidate Andrea Harrison with a check from the Metro Council on May 2. Harrison, the Democrat nominee running to fill the seat vacated by David Harrington in the 5th Councilmanic District, was endorsed by the Metro Council last month. "Andrea's a longtime community activist who will bring her dedication to Prince George's working families," said Williams, who urged "all union members in the 5th District to vote in Tuesday's election." Although the district is heavily Democratic, Williams warned that "low turnout is a sure way to lose this importance voice for workers." The polls are open from 7A to 8PM.
