Labor on the Move: Cusick to Head DC Musicians

Retired CWA staffer John Cusick takes over as president of the Metropolitan
D.C. Federation of Musicians, Local 161-170 on May 1. A senior writer/editor in
CWA's Communications Dept for the past 16 years, Cusick has also been working
part-time as a professional musician. A drummer, Cusick heads up Jazz City Trio,
which has performed at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, Corcoran Gallery of
Art an d private receptions (and has a free noontime performance scheduled
for Wednesday,
May 21 at the Corcoran) Local 161-710's new vice president is Nancy
Stutsman, a bassoonist with the Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra. Local
Secretary-Treasurer Teresa Gafford was reelected, along with executive board
members Patty Hurd and Seymour Greene. New on the executive board are Otis
Ducker, Ed Malaga and Pam Lassell.
