(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Labor and health care leaders from across the country will explore ways to
preserve quality of care and protect union benefits at a health care forum
April 24 at the National Labor College. The forum includes a presentation by
pollster Jeff Levine on the odds of passing universal health care and what
voters are thinking about the issue, U. S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) on
what’s going on in Congress on health care reform, and a dialogue on quality
of care between AFL-CIO President John Sweeney and Kaiser Permanente Chairman
and CEO George Halvorson. The event is funded by the Kaiser Permanente Health
Care Institute at the National Labor College. Click
