(Metropolitan Washington Council, AFL-CIO)
Cressotti To Complete Term: Lino Cressotti has been appointed to
complete Jerry Lozupone’s term as Secretary-Treasurer of the Washington
Building & Construction Trades Council (WBCTC). Lozupone is stepping down at
the end of April, saying “I believe it is time to pass the baton to new
younger leadership.” Lozupone has served as WBCTC Safety Coordinator, Lobbyist
and Secretary-Treasurer for eighteen years. He’s currently a Vice President of
the Maryland State/DC AFL-CIO, a Metro Washington Council Executive Board member
and has served on the Community Services Agency Board of Trustees. Cressotti
will serve through the end of the year, when the WBCTC will hold elections for
the Secretary-Treasurer’s next term. 32BJ’s Martin Thomas Bikes Off: SEIU
32BJ Political Director Martin Thomas is taking a break “to go on a long bike
trip.” Thomas’ last day at 32BJ is today, after which “I'll be flying to
San Diego in mid-March and biking towards New Orleans.” While Thomas expects
to be back in DC in late May, he says “My plans after that are up in the
air.” Alison Hirsh from SEIU 32BJ’s New York City office will be handling
DC-MD-VA political work for the local 32BJ until a replacement is found; she can
