Union Members Reach Out to Veterans

Members of OPEIU Local 2 and Teamsters Local 96 bowled, shot pool, and visited with veterans at the Armed Forces Retirement Home (AFRH) as part of the Washington Gas Annual Winter Volunteer Event on February 23. “Many of the veterans were moved to the AFRH after the Katrina disaster,” says Joyce Putnam of Local 2. “The day ended with lunch, all of us enjoying time together and looking forward to our next event with the veterans.” To volunteer for future events, contact Putnam, PUTNAMHAWICK@aol.com
