Local Labor Support Builds for DC Voting Rights March: AFGE Local 12 passed a resolution Thursday supporting the April 16 DC Voting Rights March and Rally, adapting language from the resolution passed Monday at the Metro Council meeting, reports David Richardson. Click here to download the Council's resolution. Symposium on Labor, African-Americans, and Women Today: The Maryland State and D.C. AFL-CIO is hosting a symposium today on "The Action Agenda For African-Americans And Women: How Does Labor Fit In?" The symposium begins at 1:30p at the National Labor College. Montgomery County Council member Valerie Ervin will moderate presentations by Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Lowery, Eleanor Smeal and Stephen Coyle.
